Racquetball

Racquetball

Racquetball is currently the fastest growing Racquet sport in the country and at the Manor it’s extremely popular. There are many people who have decided to switch to Racquetball due to the very bouncy nature of the ball, the lower intensity and the skill-levelling nature of the game. The rallies are longer, assisting with an increased CV workout and is less demanding on the body and the joints. There are many competitions and leagues available at the club or if you’re just looking for a new sport to keep you fit, this could be the perfect answer. It’s a very easy sport to pick up and get to grips with – “far easier to learn than Squash” is a comment regularly heard at the club by new players to the sport. All new members receive a free 30-minute coaching session from the Curtis, the Head Coach who can show you the basics that you need to know to get started. He can also introduce you to a similar standard of player should you wish to find others to play.

There is a Club Night on Friday evenings and is open to members and non-members alike (guest fee applies to non-members).  The idea is to allow differing players throughout the club to meet and integrate with new or existing players they wouldn’t necessarily get to play and is organised and run by the members, for the members.  There are different themes each week and it always great fun and a really great way to connect with new people or simply a way to try out a new sport as the members will always offer tips and advice whilst keeping things moving and everyone engaged with the evening.  Please call the reception team on 0115 930 5027 to ask about how to get involved or to book in for a training session with our coach, Robbo.

If you’re just starting out we can happily provide you with loan equipment.
